Meet Laura

Hello! I'm Laura, a therapist who loves to support individuals living with anxiety, OCD, and trauma. I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling and Spirituality and have completed graduate-level coursework in Biblical Studies, which shape my passion for thoughtful, faith-informed mental-health care. When you enter my therapy office, you will be met with non-judgement and compassion.

My professional background includes working with youth experiencing homelessness and survivors of human trafficking, experiences that continue to inform my advocacy, compassion, and commitment to justice.

In addition to my clinical work, I write, speak, and consult at the intersection of mental health and Christian faith. I’m especially passionate about helping people untangle anxiety-driven fear from the voice of God, particularly for those navigating OCD or faith-related distress.

I know that therapy can be intimidating, and I congratulate you on taking this first step.

About Therapy

I believe that good therapy is collaborative, paced, and grounded in safety. We move at a speed that respects both your nervous system and your lived experience.

My approach to therapy is integrative and tailored to each individual. I draw from evidence-based modalities including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theory, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). This allows us to address both present-day symptoms and the deeper emotional and relational patterns that shape them, while also building practical skills for coping, regulation, and change.

I welcome clients of all backgrounds and beliefs. If faith is important to you, we can thoughtfully integrate it into our work. If it isn’t, our work remains fully grounded in clinical care. Either way, therapy is a space where your whole self is welcome.

I offer virtual therapy to individuals across Ontario, allowing for accessible, flexible care from the comfort of your own space. Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost $170. Many insurance plans cover most or all of this cost. I also offer a free 15-minute consultation.

I am supervised by Michelle Sorensen, Clinical Psychologist at Resiliency Clinic in Ottawa, Ontario.

Please note: I am currently on maternity leave from clinical work and am not accepting new therapy clients at this time. I plan to re-open my virtual office in mid-2026.
